Tina Schirr is the Executive Director of the BusinessNZ Energy Council (BEC) – a division of BusinessNZ representative the World Energy Council here in New Zealand. Together with the BEC team and membership, she actively advocates for a more sustainable, affordable, and secure energy system in New Zealand. Part of her role is to lead the development of policy matters concerning energy, transport, and climate change. Due to her passion for entrepreneurism, she is always looking out for the next game-changer in the energy sector. For some years now, Tina is part of the Start-Up Energy Transition (SET) and 'Get in the Ring' Jury. She is a board member and advisor to the Young Energy Professional Network (YEPN) helping to attract more talent into the energy sector. Tina is part of the World Energy Council's energy trilemma and hydrogen expert groups and Transpower's Consumer Advisory Panel. Tina holds a Master of Science in Value Chain Management and Bachelor of Arts in Energy Utility Management.
