Chairperson, Climate Change Commission
Rod Carr was appointed as Chair of He Pou a Rangi Climate Change Commission in December 2019. He is the former Chairman of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Canterbury, was a Non Executive Director of the Canterbury Employers’ Chamber of Commerce for ten years, was the founding Chair of the National Infrastructure Advisory Board and is currently a director of the ASB, and Otakaro Ltd, which oversees $1b of Crown property assets in Christchurch. Rod is also a trustee of the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Trust. Rod has a PhD in Insurance and Risk Management, completed his 23rd marathon in Greenland at the end of 2019 and plans to celebrate his 40th wedding anniversary with his wife, four children and 3 grandchildren in September this year.
