Kayla joined WWF in March 2023, having previously served as Director of Policy at the Department of Conservation. She was Principal Advisor (and earlier, Private Secretary) to successive Ministers of Conservation from 2015-2018. Kayla has a PhD and MPhil from the University of Cambridge; her doctoral and master’s research focussed on Treaty law, indigenous customary law and legal pluralism in the context of natural resource management policy.
