Dr Michael Bonning is the immediate past AMA (NSW) President and is the current Chair of the Public Health Committee for the Federal AMA. Michael is an advocate for better health policy and for the best working environments for doctors. He has previously been a director of Beyond Blue and the National Doctors' Health Service and currently serves on the Medical Council of NSW. Michael is a General Practitioner and Chief Medical Officer, with extensive experience in health policy advisory and clinical governance for health services and government. Dr Bonning formerly served within the Royal Australian Navy as a uniformed medical officer, across multiple deployments.
