ANNOUNCING DR ANIKA MOLESWORTH AS A WORLD POTATO CONGRESS AMBASSADOR

Potatoes Australia Ltd and the World Potato Congress Inc is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Anika Molesworth as a Congress Ambassador of the World Potato Congress, to be held in Adelaide from June 23rd to 26th, 2024. Anika Molesworth is a renowned thought-leader in agro-ecological systems resilience, holding a PhD in international agriculture and environmental management. She is a prominent spokesperson driving the conversation on rural climate solutions particularly the critical role of farmers in mitigating climate change.

Anika's dedication to raising awareness of climate change impacts on farms, and, more importantly, advocating for actions to reduce emissions and adapt to changing conditions, has earned her widespread recognition. Her career has taken her across the globe where she has engaged with farmers and global leaders. Anika is the author of the book “Our Sunburnt Country”. With an ethos to inform, engage, and empower, Anika believes in collaborative work to share ideas and find sustainable solutions.

Anika's commitment to agriculture and climate advocacy has been well recognised, with numerous awards and accolades to her name.

LET’S S/MASH CHILDHOOD DEMENTIA!

We are excited to invite you to join us in our efforts to raise awareness and funds for Childhood Dementia through a series of fun events during the World Potato Congress week.

Mark your calendars and register your interest in joining in on one or two events for an unforgettable weekend supporting our cause. Click here for more information.

Did you know, Childhood Dementia affects an estimated 700,000 kids. Every year, around 50,000 babies are born with a condition that causes Childhood Dementia.

This genetic disorder causes a child to progressively lose skills such as the ability to write, read, talk, walk, and play.

50% of them will not see their 10th birthday.

75% won’t make it past 18.

Currently there is no treatment and no cure.

In Australia there are 91 deaths from Childhood Dementia per year. Cancer takes 92.

Help us change that narrative.

With awareness and more research, we can and will improve survival and quality of life for children with dementia.

World Class research is happening here at our Flinders University, Little Heroes Foundation aims to contribute to help fund the research required for possible treatments and eventual cures for Childhood Dementia.

Any breakthroughs will be shared throughout the world. This is a Worldwide problem. Our kids need our help!

Majority of the proceeds of the following events & activities go towards raising much needed funds for Childhood Dementia.
