Li Chuyuan is Chairman of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (GPHL), the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in China.  He graduated from Sun Yat-sen University with a Bachelor of Science and an EMBA, holding a Senior Engineer and Economist Certificate.  

Li Chuyuan boasts 31 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry including management, manufacture, sales, procurement, logistics and quality management.  He has led the group to double its sales scale in the last five years, and the sales scale of 2018 exceed RMB 116 billion.Li Chuyuan is a member of the Guangzhou Senior Economist Evaluation Committee and recipient of the National Model Worker and Top Ten Outstanding Youth in Guangzhou City awards.



Heidi Pease

Heidi co-founded the Los Angeles Blockchain Lab, a collaboration of academia, government, enterprise, and community developing the blockchain ecosystem in Southern California.  Partners include Los Angeles City, UCLA, UCI, USC, Caltech and Panasonic.  In addition, Heidi is CEO, Proof-Of-Art, a social enterprise platform using blockchain.  She was a hand-selected participant for Richard Branson’s Blockchain Summit, where 40 global thought leaders address blockchain’s potential for social impact.  

Heidi is a frequent guest lecturer for academic institutions, executive retreats, government events and community programs.  Most recently she presented at “Blockchain Central” for the United Nations General Assembly Concordia and World Economic Forum GBBC.

Duncan Mackintosh

Duncan spent 18 years in technology commercialisation and business development and five years in clinical veterinary practice.  Most recently he was the Chief Executive of WaikatoLink Ltd, the commercialisation company of the University of Waikato. 

Duncan has an interest in the agritech, animal health and life science sectors, is founder of several startup ventures and has held directorships on a variety of technology companies.  He is Executive Chairman of Kea Therapeutics Ltd, Brandon’s first New Zealand investment, and is a member of the Auckland UniServices Biotech & Life Sciences Investment Committee.  Duncan has a BVSc from Massey University.

Award-winning journalist Miriama Kamo is a presenter and reporter for TVNZ’s flagship current affairs programme, Sunday.  A founding team member of Sunday, Miriama has relished working on the stories that matter to New Zealanders.  Prior to this role, Miriama worked across most of TVNZ’s news and current affairs programmes, including 20/20 and 1 News at Six.

As a newsreader, Miriama has been at the forefront of many major New Zealand events, including the Pike River explosion, the passing of Sir Edmund Hillary, and the Christchurch earthquakes.  Miriama also writes for news and online publications and is a published children’s book author.

Maggie has been General Manager of Alpha Group Holdings Ltd since 2015.  Alpha was established in New Zealand in 1998 and produces natural health supplements.  It now has research, manufacturing, distribution and retail operations globally.  Prior to her role at Alpha, Maggie was CEO of the New Zealand Chinese Herald for 13 years.

In 2016 Alpha established a partnership with Massey University to identify and scientifically validate the potential health benefits of plants and fungi extracts common to New Zealand.  A research and development programme with Callaghan Innovation was also created to further explore the bioactive properties of various natural raw materials.

David Downs

Paul Tan

Dr Paul Tan has more than 20 years' experience in senior positions in the biotechnology industry.  He is Founder, Director and CEO of NZeno Limited, a New Zealand-based company committed to developing safe and compatible pig kidneys for people with kidney failure.

Previously as CEO of Living Cell Technologies Limited, Australia, he obtained regulatory approval for the world-first clinical trials of porcine cells in the treatment of human disease under current international regulations.  Dr Tan was a physician at Auckland Hospital and Associate Professor at the University of Auckland.  In 2014 he was the NZBIO-Janssen Distinguished Biotechnologist.

Duncan has an interest in the agritech, animal health and life science sectors, is founder of several startup ventures and has held directorships on a variety of technology companies.  He is Executive Chairman of Kea Therapeutics Ltd, Brandon’s first New Zealand investment, and is a member of the Auckland UniServices Biotech & Life Sciences Investment Committee.  Duncan has a BVSc from Massey University.



Nick Hill

Nick Hill joined Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) in the role of Chief Executive in August 2017.Nick has extensive experience across the private and public sector.  This includes the Chief Executive role with the Commerce Commission and leading the formation of Sport and Recreation New Zealand (SPARC, now known as Sport New Zealand).He also has significant experience in the energy sector, having worked 10 years with ECNZ and Fletcher Energy in New Zealand, and with Santos in Australia. Before joining ATEED, Nick was a Partner of specialist New Zealand public policy and management consulting firm Martin Jenkins – which he joined in 2011 to establish the firm’s Auckland practice.



Gael Surgenor

Gael is Director of Community and Social Innovation at The Southern Initiative (TSI).  She is recognised as a leading social intrapreneur working in the public sector.  As Director of TSI, Gael has built a team of strategic doers, intrapreneurs and change-makers, working to create impactful social and economic change in south Auckland.

Before joining Auckland Council in 2012, Gael held senior roles at the Ministry of Social Development, including pioneering and leading social innovations supporting parenting behaviour change and family violence prevention campaigns.  She has a law degree from Canterbury University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Reflective Social Practice from London Metropolitan University.



Tania Pouwhare

Presenter

Tania (Ngāi Tūhoe) is a Social Intrapreneur for The Southern Initiative (TSI) at Auckland Council.  Her role is to support and enable social, innovation and systems change to tackle some of Auckland’s socio-economic challenges and to be a change maker inside a large bureaucracy.  Tania is leading TSI’s strategic work on economic development, including procurement.  Before joining the TSI team, Tania held strategy roles within council.  Prior to that, she worked in London for 10 years as head of policy and campaigns at a women’s rights organisation.


Jerome Faury

Presenter

Jerome is Group General Manager at world-leading blockchain venture studio, Centrality.  He is responsible for teams that invest in and build Web 3.0 infrastructure and applications, with a focus on delivering rich ‘digital first’ consumer experiences.

Prior to his role at Centrality, Jerome was one of the founding members of Payment Express and Executive General Manager at Orion Health.  Jerome is a board member of CentraPay, CENNZnet, Plug Performance Labs, Single Source and Belong.  During his time at Orion Health, he served on the boards of Health Informatics New Zealand, New Zealand Health IT and BizDojo.
