Dr Paul Tan has more than 20 years' experience in senior positions in the biotechnology industry. He is Founder, Director and CEO of NZeno Limited, a New Zealand-based company committed to developing safe and compatible pig kidneys for people with kidney failure.
Previously as CEO of Living Cell Technologies Limited, Australia, he obtained regulatory approval for the world-first clinical trials of porcine cells in the treatment of human disease under current international regulations. Dr Tan was a physician at Auckland Hospital and Associate Professor at the University of Auckland. In 2014 he was the NZBIO-Janssen Distinguished Biotechnologist.

Before joining Auckland Council in 2012, Gael held senior roles at the Ministry of Social Development, including pioneering and leading social innovations supporting parenting behaviour change and family violence prevention campaigns. She has a law degree from Canterbury University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Reflective Social Practice from London Metropolitan University.
