Associate Professor Samantha Hocking is an Endocrinologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and a Clinical Academic at the University of Sydney. She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS) Council and the current president of the National Association of Clinical Obesity Services (NACOS). A/Prof Hocking’s research interests are focused on the metabolic complications of obesity. She is passionate about education to improve the quality of obesity care in Australia. In addition, she treats patients at the Metabolism and Obesity Service, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Dr. Kong is Professor in the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests are diabesity with focus on clinical trials related to novel technology and therapeutics. She is the Editor in Chief of Primary Care Diabetes, Editorial Board Member of Diabetes Care, Section Editor of Current Diabetes Reports, and International Associate Editor of Diabetes Technology and Therapeutics. Dr. Kong is dedicated to teaching and won the Faculty Education Award in 2022. She has presented at numerous local, regional and international meetings and has published over 400 articles in international peer-reviewed journals.

Horng-Yih Ou, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at National Cheng Kung University Hospital, Taiwan. He is a board-certified endocrinologist with clinical and research expertise in diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, and metabolic disorders. His research focuses on the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes and related metabolic complications. Dr. Ou has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and is actively involved in diabetes education and regional professional societies.

Dr. Bril is currently an Assistant Professor and Associate Scientist in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He completed medical school and 4 years of internal medicine residency at Instituto Universitario CEMIC in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He then completed internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at University of Alabama at Birmingham. Despite his relatively early career, he has >90 publications in the field of MASLD, obesity and type 2 diabetes. He was awarded the Early career award from The Obesity Society, and Young Investigator Award from the American Diabetes Association.

Prof. Stephen Twigg, MBBS(Hons-I), PhD(Syd), FRACP, is Head, Dept of Endocrinology, RPA Hospital, plus Kellion Professor of Endocrinology, Stan Clark Chair in Diabetes, and Head of Central Clinical School in Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney. As a physician-scientist and clinical triallist his research program since 1995, is dedicated to preventing and managing end-organ complications in diabetes, including foot disease in diabetes through the RPAH interdisciplinary Diabetes High Risk Foot Service, in dysmetabolic steatohepatitis (MASH) in diabetes (leading the inaugural ADS Living guideline), and in long duration type 1 diabetes (collaborating with DA. He is a past ADS Kellion Award recipient and a past President of the ADS.
