Prof. Spiros Fourlanos is Director of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology and based at the University of Melbourne. His doctoral thesis was on ‘Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA): New Clinical, Immunogenetic and Metabolic Perspectives’. Spiros is an author on 190 peer-reviewed publications and has been an investigator in over 35 randomised clinical trials. His areas of interest include type 1 diabetes, atypical forms of diabetes and inpatient diabetes care. He is currently a co-stream lead in the University of Melbourne Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations (ACADI) collaborative and co-chair of the ADS In-Hospital Diabetes sub-committee.

Mr Hoe Kit Chee is currently pursuing his PhD studies on Periodontal Health and its Impact on Diabetes Mellitus and is the Lead for the Dental Clinic in the Singapore General Hospital Diabetes & Metabolism Centre that screens and treats periodontal disease in people living with diabetes.

Da Hea Seo is an endocrinologist at Inha University School of Medicine, South Korea. Her clinical and research interests focus on type 2 diabetes, metabolic liver disease, and diabetic complications. She has led several cohort‑based studies and is actively involved in international collaborations within the Korean Diabetes Association.”

Takeshita graduated and completed her PhD in 2007 at Kanazawa University. She served as a Medical Officer in the Hepatitis Programme, HIV/AIDS Department at the WHO in 2016. She became an Associate Professor in 2019 in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Graduate School of Medical Science, Kanazawa University

Dr Jean Lu graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2013 and completed specialist training in Endocrinology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Western Health, and Austin and Northern Health. She is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Melbourne focused on diabetes technologies and automated insulin delivery.

Anushriya Pant is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Sydney with key interests in diet, cardiovascular prevention and digital health. Her current projects are related to using mobile technology to manage chronic diseases, include oral health and heart conditions.

Madeleine Hemphill is a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Philosophy student. Her research explores the markers, mechanisms and management of chronic complications in Type 1 Diabetes. She hopes to eventually specialise in interventional cardiology and integrate research with clinical practice to advance care for people with cardiovascular disease.

Associate Professor Wendy Davis PhD is an epidemiologist and applied biostatistician with expertise in data linkage and health economics. She is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia’s Medical School at Fremantle Hospital.

Clinical Associate Professor Craig Taplin is a Consultant Endocrinologist and the Clinical Lead for Diabetes at Perth Children's Hospital. He holds an Honorary Research Associate appointment at The Childrens Diabetes Centre at the Kids Research Instiutute, a Breakthrough T1D Centre of Excellence.
