Catherine Finneran is the Inpatient Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney. She is passionate about supporting people living with diabetes to achieve their goals. Cathy coordinates education to upskill hospital staff to support safe and effective care for people with diabetes.

Dr Steven James has around two decades experience as a clinician in cardiology, emergency medicine, paediatrics and, primarily, diabetes. This has been in world-wide healthcare systems, and at non-governmental organisations. More recently, he has been a Senior Lecturer of Nursing at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia

Dr. Jundi Yang is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Xiangya Nursing School of Central South University. Her research focuses on diabetes prevention and management, with specific interests in physical activity, sedentary behavior, prediabetes, and self-management in type 1 diabetes.

Alia Tun-Ismail is an advanced trainee in Obstetric Medicine in South Western Sydney Local Health District. With an interest in endocrinology in pregnancy, she is hoping to further her training in Endocrinology and contribute to the literature in this area.

Electra Ulrich is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian working with clients with diabetes for over 15 years. Currently working as a Senior Dietitian at Northern Health, Electra has interests in diabetes in pregnancy, T1DM and technology and holistic client care.

Cheryl Tan is a board-certified clinical pharmacist and certified Collaborative Prescriber at Singapore General Hospital. She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from National University of Singapore and specialises in diabetes and obesity management. Cheryl is dedicated to advancing patient-centered care and finds fulfilment in supporting patients through complex clinical needs.

Ashini Uthdesha is a final-year Bachelor of Pharmacy undergraduate at the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. Her research interests include medication adherence, telemedicine interventions, and the role of pharmacists in chronic disease management, with a particular focus on type 2 diabetes care in resource-limited settings.

She began her nursing career in Scotland in 2001 and has extensive experience in diabetes care. Her interests include improving access to evidence-based care and outcomes for people living with diabetes

Dr. Kushalee Jayawickreme (MBBS, MD, MRCP) is a Endocrinology Fellow (Metabolic, liver Fellow) at the Royal North Shore Hospital, NSW. She is a Consultant Endocrinologist in Sri Lanka. She plans to commence her PhD at the University of Sydney in 2026. Her special interests are Diabetes, Metabolic syndrome, and pregnancy.

She currently working at the nursing college of Bharatpur Hospital, where She contributes to the academic and professional development of future nurses.

She is a nurse in the Department of Endocrinology at Peking University People’s Hospital, a specialist nurse certified by the Chinese Nursing Association, and a weight-loss case manager. She has published four papers as first author and has led three research projects.

Pei-Ju Lee is a diabetes educator with over 20 years of clinical experience. Her expertise includes diabetes case management, psychosocial interventions, and person-centred care for older adults with diabetes, focusing on comprehensive and holistic support in primary care settings.

Kathleen Hare is a Provisional Psychologist and Master of Psychology (Clinical) candidate. Her research focuses on the intersection of chronic illness and mental health. Her work specifically examines the emotional burden of diabetes and systemic gaps in routine emotional health screening.

Hui Xin is a certified dietitian and researcher with a strong interest in understanding community perspectives on adopting health-related changes for chronic disease management. She is work on evaluating the effectiveness of research implementation and identifying the facilitators and barriers that influence successful translation of evidence into sustainable health practices.
