Biography

Prof. Abdul Basit is Director of the Indus Diabetes and Endocrinology Center (IDEC), Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN), Secretary General of the Diabetic Association of Pakistan (DAP), and President of the Diabetes in Asia Study Group (DASG). An internationally recognized diabetologist, he has made significant contributions to diabetes prevention, epidemiology, diabetic foot care, and health systems strengthening. He has authored over 300 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has played a leading role in advancing diabetes research, education, and policy in Pakistan and across Asia. In recognition of his scientific contributions, he is listed among Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists.

Ray Kelly is a Gomeroi man, and researcher at the University of Melbourne. He is the founder of the 'Too Deadly for Diabetes' program and an author on the RACGP Preventive Health Guidelines for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, and 24-Hour Physical Activity Guidelines.
