Dr Giuliana Murfet FADEA CDE is a practicing Nurse Practitioner, Senior Lecturer at the University of Tasmania, Bullwinkel Scholar, Chair of the Medical, Education and Scientific Advisory Council for Diabetes Australia, and Director of the International Consortium for Rural Diabetes Research. Over the past 20 years, her work focuses on diabetes models of care, workforce capability, and improving diabetes outcomes in rural and regional communities. Her PhD research underpinned the development of Diabetes Connekt, and the Diabetes Capability Framework, supporting diabetes curriculum development across universities and TAFEs. She has also contributed to award-winning diabetes microcredential programs that are building workforce capacity across Australia.

Dr. Tan Ming Yeong is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the IMU University and a pioneer diabetes educator with 38 years of experience. She received her Doctor of Nursing degree and Credentialled Diabetes Educator from Australia. Dr. Tan played a pivotal role in organizing regular national conferences and co-authored the Malaysian Forum for injection Guidelines and Diabetes Education Manuals. Dr. Tan also serves as a Diabetes Nurse Specialist at the Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. In 2008, Dr. Tan received the Excellent Nursing Award from the Malaysian Ministry of Health for her transformative impact on diabetes self-management and nursing

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yazid Jalaludin is Professor of Paediatrics at Universiti Malaya and Senior Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at UMMC and UMSC. He serves as Deputy Dean (Undergraduate Studies) and is President of Diabetes Malaysia (2025–2027). A former President of regional and national paediatric organisations, he holds key leadership roles in endocrinology and paediatrics. Widely recognised, he has received the Outstanding Asian Paediatrician Award (2024) and fellowships from the Academy of Science Malaysia and Academy of Medicine of Malaysia. A prolific clinician-scientist, he has over 120 publications, with research shaping paediatric diabetes, obesity, and metabolic health policy across the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr Juliana Chan is Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Director, Hong Kong Institute of Diabetes and Obesity. She is a diabetologist and clinical pharmacologist with interest in epidemiology, genetics, clinical trials and care models. Since 1990s, she had trained a multidisciplinary team and set up the diabetes clinical trial unit and participated in landmark studies in diabetes and kidney disease as lead investigator and member of steering committee. She translated the learning from clinical trials to establish the Hong Kong Diabetes Register and biobank which evolved to become web-based Joint Asia Diabetes Evaluation (JADE) Platform to implement pragmatic trials and data-driven care with creation of real-world evidence and discovery of biomarkers for precision medicine. She has published 1000 articles and 30 book chapters and serves on advisory boards of multinational companies and committees of practice guidelines.

Prof. Winnie Chee Siew Swee is a Professor of Nutrition & Dietetics and Registered Dietitian with over 30 years of experience in clinical nutrition, research, and higher education leadership. She is a recognised expert in medical nutrition therapy for cardiometabolic diseases and malnutrition, with strong focus on culturally adapted lifestyle interventions in Asian populations. Prof. Chee has led multiple clinical trials, published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, and supervision of postgraduate students. She has held senior academic leadership roles and played a key role in national dietetics education, clinical guidelines, and nutrition policy development. She also consults at the 'International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia, Healthcare multidisciplinary clinic.

Michelle Robins has been working as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator since 1993 and endorsed Nurse Practitioner for 19 years. She has produced book chapters, presented at national and international conferences, at more than 170 workshops and more recently webinars and podcasts. Michelle has worked on 60 diabetes-related committees and working parties, and 2010 she received the Jan Baldwin Award to recognise and reward excellence in a holistic approach to diabetes education and care and is an Honorary Life Member of the ADEA.
