Tim has been an active health consumer representative & advocate for over 29 years and has been a participant in numerous clinical trials where he has seen the many benefits of research into medical advancement. Living in WA, he is extremely conscious of the limitations imposed by the vastness of the state and can see the significant importance of involving consumers despite the tyranny of distance. Amongst numerous current roles at state, federal, and international levels he is: a member of the Australian Teletrials Steering Group, and the IMPACCT Consumer Advisory Group; a Patient for Patient Safety Champion for the World Health Organisation; the Australian representative on the Six Degrees Medical T2D DEEP Virtual Advisory Board; and a member of a number of ethics committees. Former appointments include: advisor to two federal Health Ministers (as a member of the Lead Clinicians Group), member of the WA Clinical Senate Executive, member of Diabetes Australia’s Medical, Education and Scientific Advisory Council, and member of the Boards of Health Consumers’ Council WA and the Consumers Health Forum of Australia. He has presented at a number of conferences, including: the "Asia Pacific Conference on the Metabolic Syndrome"; and the United Nations conference on "Global Health Challenges - Achieving the Millennium Development Goals”.

YI Zhang is a postgraduate researcher in nursing in China. Their research focuses on diabetes self-management education, nursing competence development, and practice-based mechanisms influencing professional capacity in clinical settings.

Dr Mia Majstorovic is a postdoctoral researcher from the School of Psychology, Adelaide University. Mia is currently working on the QuEST (Qualitative experiences of Early-Stage Type 1 diabetes) project - a nationwide exploration of children’s, caregivers’ and healthcare professionals' perspectives on monitoring of early-stage type 1 diabetes.

Han-Sang Baek, MD, PhD, is an endocrinologist at Uijeongbu St. Mary’s Hospital, The Catholic University of Korea. His research focuses on healthcare economics and inpatient glycemic management. He is dedicated to optimizing diabetes care systems and securing sustainable education through evidence-based clinical practice and healthcare policy advocacy.

Renee is a Intern Doctor at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Her interest lies greatly in the field of Internal Medicine and Preventive Health

Dr Evelyn Hao graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine (BMed/MD) from UNSW in 2017 and completed her Masters of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology from USYD in 2021. From 2023, she has worked as an Endocrinology Advanced Trainee across several health districts in NSW.

Dr Ted Wu is a senior staff specialist endocrinologist and the Director of the Diabetes Centre at The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia; visiting endocrinologist at Dubbo Base Hospital; Honorary Professor at the Shijiazhuang Diabetes Hospital, Hebei, China; the inaugural District Diabetes Lead of Sydney Local Health District.

Zhang Wenhui, Master of Nursing, serves as a diabetes advanced practice nurse and charge nurse in the integrated diabetes care center. Over 20 years, she has gained profound experience in diabetes education and management. Yang Jin, Doctor, serves as deputy director of the endocrinology department.

Claire is the lead Podiatrist at Waikato Hospital in Aotearoa New Zealand, and is currently studying towards a PhD at the University of Auckland. Her topic is integrated care: 'How can we improve diabetes and sensory health conditions in Aotearoa New Zealand?'

Dr Shannon Lin is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian and a Credentialed Diabetes Educator with over 20 years of experience in diabetes and nutrition. Shannon is also the Diabetes Course Director and Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney and the Vice President for the Australian Diabetes Educators Association.
