Dr Juliana Chan is Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Director, Hong Kong Institute of Diabetes and Obesity. She is a diabetologist and clinical pharmacologist with interest in epidemiology, genetics, clinical trials and care models. Since 1990s, she had trained a multidisciplinary team and set up the diabetes clinical trial unit and participated in landmark studies in diabetes and kidney disease as lead investigator and member of steering committee. She translated the learning from clinical trials to establish the Hong Kong Diabetes Register and biobank which evolved to become web-based Joint Asia Diabetes Evaluation (JADE) Platform to implement pragmatic trials and data-driven care with creation of real-world evidence and discovery of biomarkers for precision medicine. She has published 1000 articles and 30 book chapters and serves on advisory boards of multinational companies and committees of practice guidelines.

Dr Konrad Kangru is a General Practitioner from Killarney in rural Queensland and a SMO at Logan Hospital. He is also a member of the NADC Steering Committee and Diabetes Australia Health Professional Advisory Board. Konrad is also a member of the RACGP Rural faculty Council, and a Director on the NQPHN Board.

Prof. Spiros Fourlanos is Director of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology and based at the University of Melbourne. His doctoral thesis was on ‘Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA): New Clinical, Immunogenetic and Metabolic Perspectives’. Spiros is an author on 190 peer-reviewed publications and has been an investigator in over 35 randomised clinical trials. His areas of interest include type 1 diabetes, atypical forms of diabetes and inpatient diabetes care. He is currently a co-stream lead in the University of Melbourne Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations (ACADI) collaborative and co-chair of the ADS In-Hospital Diabetes sub-committee.

Prof. Lim is a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist and Head of the Department of Research, Development, and Innovation at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is the former Head of the Diabetes Care Unit, Universiti Malaya (2022-2025). She also holds honorary positions at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Melbourne, Australia. As a clinician-scientist, Prof. Lim’s major areas of interest are cardiometabolic medicine (epidemiology, molecular, and implementation science). Prof. Lim sits on the Scientific Work Groups of the American Diabetes Association/European Association for the Study of Diabetes (ADA/EASD) Precision Medicine in Diabetes Initiative and the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Diabetes Compact. She has published more than 130 peer-reviewed articles, including in The Lancet, Nature, Diabetes Care, and Science Bulletin. Prof. Lim has received several awards, including the 2025 Malaysia Scopus Research Start Award – Women in Research Excellence (STEM) Category, Universiti Malaya’s Top Cited Researcher 2024, World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University for 4 consecutive years (2022-2025), and the European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) Albert Renold Fellowship, tenable at the University of Oxford, UK. She is an Editorial Board Member of several Tier 1 Web of Science-indexed journals. She is also the Vice President of Diabetes Malaysia (a country affiliate of the International Diabetes Federation) and the Council Member of the Malaysian Endocrine and Metabolic Society

Professor Alex Brown The Australian National University and The Kids Research Institute Australia Dr. Brown (Wadi Wadi, Yuin Nation) is the Director of the National Centre for Indigenous Genomics at The Australian National University and Professor of Indigenous Genomics at The Kids Research Institute Australia. He has current affiliations with The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (Indigenous Cardiovascular Genomics), The Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales (Adjunct Professor), is a visiting Professorial Fellow at the Charles Perkins Centre (University of Sydney) and sits on the Board of the CSIRO (Australia's National Science Agency). He is an internationally recognized clinician/researcher who has committed his entire career to Aboriginal health research, with specific focus on understanding and overcoming inequalities in cardiovascular disease and diabetes outcomes.

Dr Gary Deed is a general practitioner with a passionate interest in promoting quality patient care of diabetes and obesity in general practice through education, development of resources including guidelines, policy development, research and strategic collaboration. He is the Chair of the Diabetes Specific interest network for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). He is the editor for the General Practice management of type 2 diabetes guideline for the RACGP and remains a member of the ADS Clinical Guidelines/Standards Advisory Committee . He is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow of Monash University and helps co-ordinate the NHMRC funded ‘STAREE’ Statins in Reducing Events in the Elderly trial - http://www.staree.org.au/ . He is a co-investigator for the Australian type 1 diabetes general population screening pilot. He has published peer reviewed journal articles in diabetes.

Professor Glen Noonan is Chief Executive Officer of Diabetes Victoria and Founder of the Diabetes Innovation and Impact Foundation. He is also an Honorary Enterprise Professor at The University of Melbourne and an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Health at Deakin University. Glen is a recognised leader in health system transformation, diabetes policy, prevention and research impact, with more than 35 years’ experience across the health, research and corporate sectors. As CEO of Diabetes Victoria, he leads the organisation’s work across diabetes prevention, advocacy, policy, health services, community programs, research and philanthropy, with a strong focus on translating evidence and innovation into improved health outcomes for people living with diabetes. He has led the establishment of the Diabetes Innovation and Impact Foundation, an initiative designed to accelerate investment in world-class diabetes research, innovation and translational impact. This includes strategic research partnerships with the Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabates Innovations (ACADI) and the Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes (ACBRD). Prior to joining Diabetes Victoria, Glen spent 33 years at PwC Australia, including 24 years as a Senior Partner, where he led major transformation programs across health, government and community sectors. He also serves as the Co-Chair of Victoria’s Public Health and Wellbeing Sector Advisory Group and is a Director of The Royal Women's Hospital. His leadership is informed by both extensive executive experience and personal experience as a parent of a child living with type 1 diabetes.
