Biography
Dr. Aravind R Sosale completed his MBBS from Bangalore University in 1983 and DNB (Internal Medicine). He received diabetes training under Prof. M Viswanathan at DRC, Chennai, and hospital management training at Vellore.
He is the Founder Director of Diacon Hospital in Bangalore, Karnataka’s first University-recognised diabetology centre, maintaining a database of over 1.25 lakh diabetic patients. He directs postgraduate diabetology programmes at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and Jaipur National University. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he has been an examiner for diabetology courses nationwide for 25 years.
Dr. Aravind was President of Diabetes India (since 2019) and previously President of RSSDI (2015-2016), after serving 15 years on its Executive Committee.
He received FRCP (Glasgow) in 2014 and FRCP (Edinburgh) in 2015. He has led more than 150 clinical trials and published over 150 papers. He holds a Guinness World Record for the largest diabetic health screening (14/11/2013) and a LIMCA Book record (May 2016) for the Initiate Glycaemic Discipline movement. He also represented the State, Indian Universities, and the National Basketball team between 1974 and 1988.

Dr. V. Mohan is Chairman, Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre and Madras Diabetes Research Foundation at Chennai in South India. He oversees a chain of 51 diabetes centres across 8 states of India and has over 700,000 registered persons with diabetes across his centres. His main research interests are epidemiology of diabetes and its complications, monogenic diabetes, type 1 diabetes, fibrocalculous pancreatic diabetes, precision diabetes and nutrition in diabetes.
Dr. Mohan has published 1875 papers which includes 1220 original articles. His research has attracted over 252,000 citations and has a ‘h index’ of 175.
Dr. Mohan has trained a large number of physicians & diabetologists in addition to nurses and educators. He has received several awards for his research.
