Elaine Cornford is an RN and CDE with a strong clinical background in primary health care. She is the Course Coordinator for the Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education at JCU. Elaine has a strong interest in the public health aspects of diabetes and in supporting the education of health professionals.

Darlene Borgas is a dedicated Diabetes Educator passionate about supporting high‑quality diabetes care. Through the Diabetes Alliance Program Plus, she supports nurses with practical, engaging education that builds confidence and capability, helping ensure people living with or at risk of diabetes receive reliable, high‑quality care.

Sharon is a Diabetes Alliance Program (DAP) Implementation Manager, Credentialled Diabetes Educator, and coordinator of the HNE LHD Diabetes Stream. She supports initiatives that integrate specialist support, clinician education, and data-driven quality improvement to strengthen diabetes care in general practice across urban, regional, and rural communities.

Deepa is a credentialled diabetes nurse educator at Western Health, with a diverse nursing career spanning across major tertiary hospitals and remote communities. She has co-authored several publications and has facilitated workshops for health practitioners. Deepa is dedicated to mentoring new DNEs, empowering them to excel in diabetes education.

Fiona Sellars is a Diabetes Nurse Practitioner and Credentialled Diabetes Educator with expertise across the lifespan. She currently works in remote Far North Queensland and co-chairs the Queensland Diabetes Clinical Network Type 1 Working Group, which leads statewide initiatives in clinical guidelines, advocacy, equity, health literacy, and transition.

With 10 years' experience as a consultant pharmacist, Ai Lian Lee is also now a diabetes educator working towards credentialling. Based in an area of WA without local CDE services, she is passionate about reducing travel burdens and empowering her community through diabetes education, with an interest in sleep health.
