Tim has been an active health consumer representative & advocate for over 29 years and has been a participant in numerous clinical trials where he has seen the many benefits of research into medical advancement. Living in WA, he is extremely conscious of the limitations imposed by the vastness of the state and can see the significant importance of involving consumers despite the tyranny of distance. Amongst numerous current roles at state, federal, and international levels he is: a member of the Australian Teletrials Steering Group, and the IMPACCT Consumer Advisory Group; a Patient for Patient Safety Champion for the World Health Organisation; the Australian representative on the Six Degrees Medical T2D DEEP Virtual Advisory Board; and a member of a number of ethics committees. Former appointments include: advisor to two federal Health Ministers (as a member of the Lead Clinicians Group), member of the WA Clinical Senate Executive, member of Diabetes Australia’s Medical, Education and Scientific Advisory Council, and member of the Boards of Health Consumers’ Council WA and the Consumers Health Forum of Australia. He has presented at a number of conferences, including: the "Asia Pacific Conference on the Metabolic Syndrome"; and the United Nations conference on "Global Health Challenges - Achieving the Millennium Development Goals”.

She works across advocacy, community engagement & digital health to improve awareness and support for people living with diabetes. She has lived with type 1 diabetes since childhood.

Emma Klatman is Global Policy and Advocacy Manager at Life for a Child, where she leads global advocacy, policy, and strategic engagement focused on improving access to care for children and young people living with type 1 diabetes in low and middle income countries. Over the past decade, her work has spanned health systems strengthening, global diabetes policy, donor engagement, and equitable access to insulin, blood glucose monitoring, and diabetes technologies. Emma has played a key role in shaping Life for a Child’s global advocacy agenda, including work related to universal health coverage, meaningful engagement, epidemiology, and access to continuous glucose monitoring in resource limited settings.

Chen Wei (Harry), male, born in 1989, was diagnosed tpye1 diabetes at the age of 5 and has had it for more than 33 years in Shanghai ,China. Harry has a warm-hearted and understanding personality. He has launched the "HCH diabetes&Life" Diabetes Club in Shanghai, which advocates for a balance between blood sugar control and life, and continues to make life exciting! Harry regularly organizes salons for type 1 diabetes patients and their families in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region. He has been the host of various type 1 diabetes summer camps for many times. Harry has a large number of diabetes fans and followers on the well-known socail media APP account in China.

With over 20 years of experience across the healthcare and NGO sectors, Fiona works to advance equitable and sustainable access to diabetes care for underserved communities in low‑ and middle‑income countries (LMICs). Her work focuses on strengthening health systems, building multi‑stakeholder partnerships, and supporting the integration of Type 1 Diabetes into national health policies, including policy reform and budget prioritisation. She is currently the Regional Manager for Action4Diabetes, leading programmes across Southeast Asia to improve access to essential diabetes supplies, education, and health system strengthening initiatives. Prior to this role, she held regional and global positions at Novo Nordisk, working in access, advocacy, and public‑private partnerships to expand diabetes care in resource‑limited settings

Chris Lee is a First Nations cultural leader and passionate diabetes advocate. Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2013, he worked across Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander media, justice, and community-controlled health and wellbeing for more than 40 years. He was engaged as the inaugural National Manager for Engagement and Education under the inaugural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education and engagement strategy at a national Diabetes advocacy organisation. He chairs the University of Sydney T1Diabetes First Nations Governance Committee and recently spoke at the International Diabetes Stigma Conference in Jaipur, India, promoting trauma-safe, culturally grounded approaches to diabetes care.
