Dr Kanika Mehta works as a postdoctoral researcher in Epidemiology and Population Health at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne. Her research focuses on understanding the burden and trends of dementia in the background of diabetes, using large-scale linked administrative databases and population cohorts.

Kaarin Anstey is a Scientia Professor of Psychology and Director of the UNSW Ageing Futures Institute and Senior Principal Research Scientist at Neuroscience Research Australia. Anstey conducts research in the fields of dementia epidemiology, dementia risk reduction, and cognitive aging. Anstey is a member of the World Dementia Council and Vice Chair of the Governance Committee of the Global Council on Brain Health. In 2025 she was awarded the NSW Premier’s Award for Excellence in Biological and Medical Science.

Professor Hung-Yuan Li is an attending physician in the Department of Internal Medicine at National Taiwan University Hospital and a professor at the National Taiwan University College of Medicine. His research focuses on diabetes epidemiology and translational medicine, with particular emphasis on gestational diabetes and pregnancy-related metabolic disorders. He has published over 150 SCI-indexed papers in leading journals, including Diabetes Care, JCEM, and AJOG. He led the TESGO randomized controlled trial, a landmark Asian-led study on GDM screening strategies. He is also actively involved in clinical guideline development and diabetes advocacy.

Dr. Chen attended the National Yang-Ming University School of Medicine from 1989 to 1996, gaining his MD, and becoming the PhD of the Institute of Health Policy and Welfare, National Yang-Ming University to extend his research from biomedical domain to aging and public policy. He started his residency in orthopedic surgery in 1996, and from 1998 to 2003, his residency in family medicine at the Taipei Veterans General Hospital, and became an attending physician of the Department of Family Medicine in 2003. In 2003 Dr. Chen became of Director in Community Medicine and Geriatric Medicine of Taipei Municipal Yang-Ming Hospital. In 2005, he was invited to the University of Oxford as a Visiting Scholar in Department of Clinical Gerontology. Dr. Chen became the Director of Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Taipei Veterans General Hospital in 2006 and the Director of Aging and Health Research Center of National Yang Ming University in 2014. In 2021, Dr. Chen became the Superintendent of Taipei Municipal Gan-Dau Hospital (Managed by Taipei Veterans General Hospital) In 2002, Dr. Chen became the lecturer in Family Medicine at the National Yang-Ming University, obtained his associate professorship in 2010, and became full professorship in 2014 in Geriatrics. Currently, Dr. Chen became the Distinguished Professor, Center for Healthy Longevity and Aging Sciences, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Dr. Chen is the key opinion leader in age-friendly healthcare services, including integrated outpatient services, post-acute care and long-term care. Dr. Chen has published nearly 600 peer-reviewed articles in geriatrics and gerontology, including a series of articles in leading journals in the world. Dr. Chen’s research work is focused in several domains: (1) frailty and sarcopenia, (2) age-friendly healthcare systems, including long-term care and dementia care, and (3) smart health care and artificial intelligence. Dr. Chen is heavily involved in international collaboration for research and healthcare reforms for older people and he is now leading several working groups for research of older people.

Professor Dianna Magliano has a BAppSci (Hons), PhD and MPH. Dianna has worked for over 17 years in epidemiology in diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity research as the epidemiologist of the Australian Diabetes, Obesity and Lifestyle Study. Her more recent work involves exploring trends in diabetes incidence and mortality across the globe and data linkage of Australian datasets. She has a strong international reputation evidenced by her role as an editor for Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice and her position as co-chair of the Diabetes Atlas for the International Diabetes Federation. She is currently supported by a NHMRC Investigator grant. She has been awarded the Australian Jeff flack Diabetes data award and in 2021, she was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for her work in epidemiology, teaching and gender equity
