Isabella Magee is a Diabetes Australia Ambassador, International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Young Leader, communications specialist, and Nutrition and Dietetics student. Living with type 1 diabetes for more than 17 years, she combines her lived experience with expertise in health communication to advance diabetes awareness, education, and advocacy. As an IDF Young Leader, she leads 'Sweet Talk: Speak to Be Heard', a global initiative that empowers the diabetes community to advocate for meaningful change in their everyday lives. Isabella also co-hosts the Diabetes Australia podcast 'Life on the Level' and is passionate about amplifying lived experience to improve diabetes care, outcomes, and equity worldwide.

Margaret McGill AM is an Associate Professor with the The University of Sydney Faculty of Medicine and Health and Associate Director of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Diabetes Centre, Sydney. Marg has a very broad range of experience in developing innovative clinical services for diabetes and medical and health professional education and is recognised as a global leader in these areas. Marg was Senior Vice President of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF). She was Chair of the IDF Consultative Section on Diabetes Education (DECS) for 9 years and developed its global education strategy during this time. She developed the concept of the IDF Centres of Excellence. Marg was on the Clinical Council of ISPAD and developed the first Science School for Health Professionals in 2004, a program that is still conducted today. She won the ISPAD Lesdredet Prize for her global contribution to children. Among many current volunteer appointments for diabetes, she is currently on the Health Professional Advisory Council to Diabetes Australia. She was the first female and first nurse to become a Life Member of the Australian Diabetes Society. She was named in the 2011 Australia Day Honours List with the award of Order of Australia (AM) for her contribution to diabetes nationally and overseas. In 2024 Marg was bestowed the honour from the IDF of Honorary Fellow for her immense contribution to diabetes, globally

Allira is an experienced advanced practice diabetes nurse educator working across the healthcare continuum. Her work as a Senior Clinical Nurse Advisor for Bolton Clarke, Australia’s largest provider of quality aged care services, marries her passion for quality diabetes management and her extensive experience of providing holistic and person-centred care for people with complex diabetes presentations in the community setting, with the optimisation of diabetes service governance. Allira is also a Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant, working across inpatient and outpatient settings at the Austin Hospital. She has a Masters in Nursing Practice, specializing in both Critical Care and Diabetes Education and Management, and is a Credentialed Diabetes Educator through the Australian Diabetes Education Association.

Dr Sarah Parry is an Endocrinologist from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney and Sydney Horizon Educator in the Metabolic Health Program at the University of Sydney.

Julie is a Homeless Persons Program Registered Nurse with Bolton Clarke. She has worked in an assertive outreach role providing a primary health care response to people experiencing homelessness for many years. She is passionate about improving health care outcomes for this population, who often have chronic health conditions, such as diabetes. Julie has recently completed her Masters in Addictive Behaviours at Monash University/Turning Point.

Dr Patrice Forner is a dual trained endocrinologist and dietitian.  She currently works as a consultant endocrinologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and holds an academic appointment as a Clinical Lecturer at The University of Sydney. Dr Forner has a subspecialty interest in weight management and eating disorders and currently serves as the medical lead for eating disorders in Sydney Local Health District.
