Dr Giuliana Murfet FADEA CDE is a practicing Nurse Practitioner, Senior Lecturer at the University of Tasmania, Bullwinkel Scholar, Chair of the Medical, Education and Scientific Advisory Council for Diabetes Australia, and Director of the International Consortium for Rural Diabetes Research. Over the past 20 years, her work focuses on diabetes models of care, workforce capability, and improving diabetes outcomes in rural and regional communities. Her PhD research underpinned the development of Diabetes Connekt, and the Diabetes Capability Framework, supporting diabetes curriculum development across universities and TAFEs. She has also contributed to award-winning diabetes microcredential programs that are building workforce capacity across Australia.
