Professor Weiping Jia is Chair Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Director of the Shanghai Diabetes Institute, and Director of the Institute for Proactive Healthcare of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She has been dedicated to research on precision diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, early warning and screening, pathogenesis, and prevention and control engineering management. She has published more than 300 papers in leading international journals. She is also Chief Editor of the Chinese Journal of Internal Medicine, Director of the AASD, President elect of the IDF-WPR, and Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences. Professor Jia has received numerous prestigious honors, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award, Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award, Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, Xiaoren Pan Distinguished Research Award for Epidemiology of Diabetes in Asia, and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize for Science and Technology.

Stephen Colagiuri is Professor Emeritus and Co-Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Physical Activity, Nutrition and Obesity, Charles Perkins Centre and Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney. His research focus is evidence-based diabetes prevention and care. He served as Vice-President (Physician) on the Board of the International Diabetes Federation (2017 to 2022) and on a number of WHO technical advisory groups. He is a member of the IDF Obesity Taskforce.

Stephen Colagiuri is Professor Emeritus and Co-Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Physical Activity, Nutrition and Obesity, Charles Perkins Centre and Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney. Dr Juliana Chan is Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Director, Hong Kong Institute of Diabetes and Obesity. She is a diabetologist and clinical pharmacologist with interest in epidemiology, genetics, clinical trials and care models. Since 1990s, she had trained a multidisciplinary team and set up the diabetes clinical trial unit and participated in landmark studies in diabetes and kidney disease as lead investigator and member of steering committee. She translated the learning from clinical trials to establish the Hong Kong Diabetes Register and biobank which evolved to become web-based Joint Asia Diabetes Evaluation (JADE) Platform to implement pragmatic trials and data-driven care with creation of real-world evidence and discovery of biomarkers for precision medicine. She has published 1000 articles and 30 book chapters and serves on advisory boards of multinational companies and committees of practice guidelines.

Dr. Ren holds multiple academic roles in diabetes and endocrinology in China. Specializing in diabetes genetics, she has led national and provincial research projects, receiving the Top Ten Diabetes Research Awards in China and the 2022 Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize).
