Dr. Iqra Mushtaq is a cardiovascular biologist holding a PhD in sodium channelopathy-mediated fibrosis and metabolic disorders from a top institution in Taiwan. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher developing engineered exosomes as therapeutic strategies for myocarditis and cardiovascular inflammation. Her research explores the molecular mechanism underlying sodium channelopathy-derived cardiac remodeling and extends to exosome-mediated intercellular signaling to mitigate cardiac injury and modulate immune responses. Her work emphasizes the translation of fundamental disease biology into innovative cardiovascular therapeutics.

Vinay is a 2nd year cardiology advanced trainee in the Wellington region having completed most of his earlier training in Auckland. He has a broad interest in all aspects of cardiology in particular transplant medicine and EP

Dr Robert Michael is a third-year Advanced Trainee in Cardiology based in Auckland, New Zealand, with a clinical and academic focus on intervention and structural heart disease.

Dr Emily Meyer is a Senior House Officer with a strong commitment to pursuing a career in cardiology. Having recently worked in the Auckland City Hospital Cardiology Department, she has developed particular interests in acute coronary syndromes, cardiogenic shock, and heart failure management. Emily is passionate about combining evidence-based medicine with compassionate, patient-centred care. She is particularly drawn to the dynamic and high-acuity nature of cardiology and values the opportunity to contribute to research, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration within modern cardiovascular practice.

Dr Nicholas Schischka is a House Officer currently working at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital. He completed an MBChB at the University of Auckland in 2023, and has worked at Hawkes Bay Hospital as a junior doctor since, including 3 months in the Cardiology unit. Nicholas has a keen interest in Cardiology and is looking to train in the field.

Nikki is a Heart Foundation Senior Research Fellow in the Heart Health Research Group at the University of Auckland, with research interests in women's heart health and cardiac genomics.
