Charmaine has a cardiology nursing career spanning more than 30 years, with extensive experience primarily in the cardiac catheterisation laboratory setting across London, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
Currently, she works with Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty at Tauranga Hospital as the Cardiology Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC). In this role, she provides clinical leadership and supports high‑quality cardiac care delivery.
Charmaine has been actively involved with ANZACS Quality Improvement (QI) since the nationwide rollout in 2012 and continues to contribute as the Northern Coordinator and Nursing Representative. This role allows her to remain closely engaged in quality improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on facilitating improved outcomes for cardiac patients.

Maxine is a rural nurse specialist working on the West Coast. She has had 27 years of experience working in Cardiology and has been involved in policy production with the Interventional Nursing Council and provision of educational workshops with the Cardiac Society before leaving to be more involved with primary care in remote Northern Buller. She also works as a regional coordinator for the University of Auckland's ANZACS-QI programme, where she has been instrumental in maintaining data integrity and quality through local audits and training at hospitals around New Zealand. She is about to commence her nurse practitioner internship with the University of Canterbury in the new year.
