He is a member of the Australian NACOS group and is passionate about supporting sustainable weight management and improving long-term health outcomes for patients living with obesity.

Daniel Chan graduated from Auckland Medical School and is currently working on completing his Doctor of Medicine (MD) investigating the determinants and outcomes of New Zealanders with heart failure and acute coronary syndromes. Daniel practices as a Cardiologist at Whangarei Hospital and at The Heart Group. His interests are general cardiology with a focus on ischaemic heart disease and heart failure.
