The organising committees encourages everyone referring to and about people with diabetes to be mindful of the power of language. When writing your abstract and preparing your presentation, please refer to the Diabetes Australia Language Position Statement, which is also available on the Congress Website.

Your abstract should provide delegates with an overview of your proposed presentation. Please ensure your abstract submission follows the provided template and guidelines carefully.

Permission to publish: You are required to provide permission on behalf of all authors and affiliations associated with the abstract submission, for the abstract to appear on the IDF-WPR & ADC & Metabolic Diseases Congress 2026 website, Congress app and in printed Congress material if it is accepted for presentation.
Once you are satisfied with your submission, click submit abstract. You will be given an ID number and an abstract number, please use these in any communication when emailing the Congress office.

Initial Abstract Submission Close Date: 5pm AEST, 16 February 2026
Extended Submission Close Date: 5pm AEST, 16 March 2026
Initial Abstract Closing Date 16th February 2026
We encourage our international colleagues who will need time to organise travel documents and visas to submit by 16th February. If you submit by this date, you will receive notification as to whether your abstract is accepted for the meeting by Friday 27th February. Later notification will be given as to whether an accepted abstract will be for oral or poster presentation.
Extended Abstract Closing Date 16th March 2026
Due to high demand the Program Organising Committee has decided to extend the abstract deadline for one month. For those submitting abstracts before 16th February, you will be able to modify your abstract up until the new closing date.
