Jérôme Philippe, engineer from the French Ecole Polytechnique, alumnus of Ensae-Paris Tech and with a PhD in economics from the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE, University of Toulouse I), Jérôme heads the Paris Antitrust & Regulatory practice at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. Prior to joining his firm, Jérôme used to head the merger control division of the French Ministry of Finance. Jérôme represents clients in all areas of French and EU competition law, both before competition authorities and courts, and in relation to foreign direct investment screening. He has also developed a regulatory practice, with a strong focus on personal data, data protection and cybersecurity. He is also a fellow of the French Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defence (IHEDN).At the ICN, Jérôme is a Non-Governmental Advisor appointed by the French Competition Authority.
