Mr. Mohammad Hishamudin Yunus graduated with Bachelor of Laws (LLB)(Hons) followed by Master of Laws (LLM), both degrees from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (University of London). He was admitted as a Barrister-at-Law of Lincoln’s Inn, London. He began his career in the Malaysian Judicial and Legal Service in August 1973 as a magistrate in Kuala Lumpur and went on to serve in other capacities, including Judge of Sessions Court, Deputy Public Prosecutor, Senior Federal Counsel, State Legal Advisor for the State of Selangor, Deputy Parliamentary Draftsman, and Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court. In 1984 he was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Malaysian Bar. He was appointed a High Court Judge in 1992 and was elevated to the Court of Appeal in 2009, where he remained until his retirement in September 2015.After retirement Mr. Hishamudin Yunus has held several positions in Government such as member of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) and member of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia. Mr. Hishamudin Yunus holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration (CIArb-UK) and is empanelled by the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) as an Arbitrator; Mr. Hishamudin Yunus is currently Chairman of the Competition Commission of Malaysia (MyCC).
He enjoys spending time with his family, is a passionate social footballer and keenly follows motorsports.
