Botond Horváth

Botond Horváth graduated in law in 2012 from Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest, Hungary. He studied European and International law at the Universidad de La Rioja, Logroño, Spain in the academic year 2009-2010. 

He obtained his LL.M. degree from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) in 2013 where he specialised in European Economic Law and European Financial Law. Currently he is doing his PhD focusing on competition law at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. He is fluent in English and Spanish.Botond joined the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) in 2013 where he worked as a case handler and later as head of unit supporting the work of the Competition Council, the decisionmaking body of the GVH. Botond took part in the ECN Staff Exchange Programme 2016 working at Directorate G, Cartels. 

He has been the head of the Cartel Unit since 2017. He is not only responsible for the daily work of the Cartel Unit, but he actively takes part in managingthe cartel cases together with the case handlers.
