Call for Special Sessions

We are well underway with planning an incredible ForestSAT Conference for 2024 and would like to invite you to be part of it by submitting a proposal for a Special Session! Special sessions will typically include 4 – 6 presenters in a 90-minute time slot that is chaired by an expert on the topic, who is normally the session organiser.

The deadline for submitting a Special Session closed on Sunday 23 December. Topics are currently under review by the Organising Committee.

You will be asked to submit the following with your submission:

Special Session title
Short description of special session and the covered topics
Novelty and motivation for the session i.e. why this topic is of interest to the ForestSAT community (short paragraph)
A list of keywords related to the proposal (not more than 10)
Short biography of the organiser(s) (three - four sentences)
Possible speakers

Evaluation
Proposals will be evaluated based on topic description, novelty and associated impact, and organisers qualifications. We encourage diversity within our field and seek a range of organisers across age, ethnicity, location and field of work. Special sessions will be allocated and notified prior to the opening of abstract submissions.

Under-subscribed Sessions
For Special Sessions that are under-subscribed (due to abstract rejections or a limited number of submissions), an effort will be made to identify regular abstract submissions to complete the session, as deemed appropriate by the conference organisers.
