ADEA Symposia and Masterclass Abstract Submissions

Presentation Formats

The ADC offers two presentation categories – Symposia and Masterclasses. During the symposia abstract submission process, you will be asked to select your preferred category. Please see the descriptions below when selecting the most appropriate choice. Please note that in the event your submission is accepted for a presentation, you may be allocated a different presentation format than the one you have selected during the submission process.

Symposium: A symposium should include 2-3 presenters (3 presenters max), each presenting different aspects of a topic that is logically developed and thought-provoking. It may provide new information, application of evidence or an opportunity to generate discussion. Symposia should be appropriate for audiences of 100+ delegates and will be held in large meeting rooms, with chairs arranged in rows (lecture-theatre-style).

Masterclass: A masterclass should be presented by 2-3 presenters (3 presenters max) with a focus on a particular topic and explore the practical applicability of research or theory to practice. It should allow sufficient time for audience questions and/or provide some hands-on or group practicum. Masterclasses should be appropriate for audiences of 50-100 delegates and will be held in large meeting rooms, with chairs arranged in rows (lecture-theatre-style).
