Ngarimu Blair is a respected leader renowned for his deep knowledge of the history of Ngāti Whātua ki Tāmaki and central Tāmaki. He has more than 20 years of experience advancing tangata whenua issues in Tāmaki and is a key influencer in tangata whenua-led initiatives, such as the regeneration of the city centre precinct, Te Tōangaroa, and the launch of Te Tomokanga ki Tāmaki, which focuses on collaborative iwi Māori investment.

Ngarimu began his career working for Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and transitioned to governance in 2011, holding multiple directorships, including with Waka Kotahi and North Harbour Rugby Union. He co-chairs the Tāmaki Makaurau Mana Whenua Forum and is a foundation member of the Tupuna Maunga Authority. A passionate advocate for Māori culture and the environment, Ngarimu regularly lectures and speaks at commercial and cultural events, sharing his extensive tribal knowledge with whānau and those eager to learn about Tāmaki’s cultural landscape.
