Networking
Can I access a delegate list?
There is an Attendee list available to all registered delegates which is accessible on the Meeting Hub of the event platform. It is available for the duration the event platform is live, from 4 weeks prior until 4 weeks post event. As delegates login for the first time, their visible details will change (from given name and initial of surname) to show their full name, position and organisation. Be sure to login to the event platform on a regular basis to see who has since logged in (i.e. full details are now visible), and to check your messages.
Separate to the Attendee list on the event platform, a delegate list (of those who consented in their registration) is shared with Platinum and Gold sponsors.
How do I find which institutions/organisations are attending APAIE 2021?
In the lead up to the event, Sponsor Engagement Profile pages are being added and developed, so visit the Sponsors Hub regularly to check what’s new and to see what organisations are attending APAIE 2021. Furthermore, as delegates login for the first time, their visible details will change (from given name and initial of surname) to show their full name, position and organisation. Be sure to login to the event platform on a regular basis to see who has since logged in (i.e. full details are now visible), and to check your messages.
How can I connect with other delegates?
APAIE 2021 offers opportunities to connect with fellow delegates for the duration the event platform is open (4 weeks prior until 4 weeks post-event). The two main opportunities are through the Sponsors Hub and the Meeting Hub:
Sponsors Hub: This is where you can find all those organisations you would normally visit in the Exhibition Hall of a traditional, in-person event. Browse the numerous Sponsor Engagement Profile (SEP) pages (virtual booths) where you can access key information. Noting the various time zones, if no-one is online at the time of your visit, you can leave a message and/or book a meeting. In addition, you may receive follow-up contact from the SEP organisation as they will have access to data related to visits to their SEP page.
Meeting Hub: This is where the Attendee list is located. After initial login, delegates’ full details (name, position, organisation) become visible on the Attendee list. In the Meeting Hub you can connect with other delegates via online messaging, send meeting requests, and make video calls with one or more participants.
In addition to the Sponsors Hub and Meeting Hub, the APAIE 2021 program includes networking opportunities. At the end of Day 1, there is a ‘Meet Your APAIE Directors’ session, and during the program, there are a few ‘Quick Chats’ sessions.
The Quick Chats randomly place a number of delegates in different chat rooms for a quick 15-20 minute, undirected and totally casual chat session. You never know who you may meet or what you may chat about, so join in for a bit of fun!
Are meetings limited to 1:1?
No. Meetings through the Meeting Hub or Sponsors Hub can have several participants.
Program
Will the sessions in the program be available post-event?
Recordings of the sessions are accessible to delegates until 4 weeks post-event. Therefore, registration is available for the same period.
What is the Global Dialogue?
Topic: Life Beyond Borderless - what are the future positives for international education?
The Opening session of APAIE 2021 is a 50-minute panel discussion with Will Archer as moderator and leaders in international higher education who will bring perspectives from different parts of the world.
What are the Regional Reports?
The Regional Reports provide an insight into the region’s response to the global pandemic, address institutional and policy responses, and identify key issues and implications going forward. Each Regional Report presenter is a respected leader in the international higher education sector of their country/region. For APAIE 2021, the Regional Reports consist of a 10-minute pre-recorded presentation followed by 10 minutes of live Q&A. Refer to the Program page for the list and scheduled timing of the Regional Reports.
What are the Quick Chats sessions?
The Quick Chats randomly place participating delegates in different chat rooms for a brief 15-20 minutes of undirected and totally casual chat sessions. You never know who you may meet or what you may chat about, so join in for a bit of fun!
Can I be a speaker at APAIE 2021?
No. As APAIE 2021 is a small update event, it only includes a few highlights from the regular APAIE conference. It is not a full conference and there were no open calls for presentations. You are welcome to submit an abstract for APAIE 2022.
