Details
Research, food classifications and media commentary on processing continues to shape food systems, impacting food guidance and policy, with misinformation influencing public understanding around the benefits of processing.
This session will cover the role of food processing within food systems including food safety, affordability and nutrient availability, as well as common misconceptions. Look at food classifications that now incorporate processing, in particular those that refer to ‘ultra-processed’, and review where dairy fits within these. Demonstrate the impact of processing narratives on policies, both current and forecasted and understand how the dairy industry aligns on our communication and advocacy efforts.
