Matthew is currently undertaking the Pleural fellowship at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital. Throughout his training he has taken a keen interest in pleural diseases, lung cancer and interventional pulmonary medicine. He has developed a clinical research interest in pleural infection and is currently an associate investigator on the AMPLE-4 trial.

Estee Lau, a pharmacist with a First-Class Honours Master of Pharmacy degree from King’s College London, is currently pursuing a PhD with Edith Cowan University at Institute for Respiratory Health. She has presented at conferences and has received awards including the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology Assembly Education Award 2023.

Dr Gerry Olive is a proud father of two beautiful children. In his spare time he is a Respiratory Physician and early career researcher undertaking a PhD in the lung nodule diagnostic pathway. He has a strong research interest in bronchoscopic approaches to peripheral lesions.

Biography

A/Prof. Badiei is a staff specialist in the department of thoracic medicine at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He initially completed a degree in Biomedical Engineering and then a PhD in Medicine prior to embarking on a career in medicine. His basic and initial advanced physician training was at the RAH before completing his fellowship at the pleural medicine unit at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Western Australia. He currently works as an interventional pulmonologist and is the pleural lead at the RAH. His research interests are in the area of interventional pulmonology and thoracic imaging.​

Biography

Phan Nguyen is head of unit of the Department of Thoracic Medicine, the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He is senior editor on Respirology, and associate editor on Respirology Case Reports. He is a member on WABIP’s continuing medical education committee and is head of the Bronchoscopy and Interventional Techniques Assembly of the APSR.
