Dr Sheikh M Alif is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health at the Institute of Health and Wellbeing, Federation University Australia and a Research Fellow of Respiratory Science at the University of Melbourne. He is an academic and clinical epidemiologist with a PhD in clinical epidemiology and population health from the esteemed University of Melbourne. He also has an MPH in Epidemiology and a clinical background in Dental Surgery. His research focuses on respiratory health, occupational lung diseases, and exposure science. Dr Alif has contributed to over 40 peer-reviewed publications and several nationally impactful technical reports. With over 14 years of teaching experience in several public health subjects at the University of Melbourne, Monash University, and overseas, he has coordinated multiple units, including health promotion, planetary health, occupational and environmental medicine, epidemiology of chronic diseases, advanced epidemiology, and biostatistics.

Julia Casella completed her undergraduate degree in physiology with honours in medical research at the University of Western Australia in 2022. Julia is now working as a research assistant as part of the Western Australian Paediatric Bronchiectasis Cohort at the Telethon Kids Institute and Perth Children's Hospital.

Dr Jane Choi recently completed her PhD at the University of Western Australia and Telethon Kids Institute. Her research focuses on simple interventions to target pulmonary inflammation and oxidative stress arising during early life.

Dr Emma Gray is a visiting medical officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital working in the asthma and motor neurone disease multidisciplinary clinics. When she is not looking after three young children and her clinic patients, she is undertaking a PhD looking at various aspects of respiratory insufficiency in MND.

Timothy is currently finalising his PhD through Charles Darwin University. Timothy has worked in Indigenous Australian health related to developmental origins of health and disease, childhood anaemia, chronic lung disease and sleep disorders. Timothy recently moved to Finland to continue work in the sleep field with the Sleep Revolution consortium.

A/Prof Suzy Munns leads the Pulmonary Health in The Tropics (PHiTT) Research Group, a collaborative team of researchers from JCU, Townsville University Hospital. A/Prof Munns’ research focuses on improving early and accurate diagnosis of non-communicable respiratory diseases and improving outcomes for patients and health systems.

Dr Blokland has research interests in cell biology, airway physiology, chronic airways and lung disease, with a special interest in fixed airway obstruction. His expertise includes complex measures of lung function, 3D imaging and molecular and cell biology
