Dr. Tapson spent two decades at Duke University and co-founded the Lung Transplant, CTEPH, and Pulmonary Vascular Centers. He moved to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles in 2014 still focusing on pulmonary embolism and pulmonary hypertension. He chaired the ATS guidelines for the diagnosis of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and contributed to the ACCP VTE and international VTE guidelines. He served as the first elected President of the U.S. PERT Consortium. He has served on the World PH Guidelines Committee since 2003. He was elected to the Royal College of Physicians in 2010. Dr. Tapson has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed manuscripts.

Dr Chien is a senior staff specialist in the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Westmead Hospital. He is the clinical lead for the Respiratory NIV service, the Severe Asthma service, and the Westmead Hospital Pulmonary Embolism Response Team which was established to offer time-critical multidisciplinary management of acute PE. The Westmead PE Response team was formed to meet the challenges and time-critical nature of acute pulmonary embolism, and includes members from multiple specialties.

Vanessa is currently a final-year advanced trainee, with a developing interest in pulmonary vascular diseases including pulmonary emboli and pulmonary hypertension.

Edmund Lau is an respiratory physician working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney and Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney. He is the lead Respiratory Physician of the Pulmonary Hypertension Service at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He is the Medical Director of the Australian and New Zealand Pulmonary Hypertension Registry.

Chinthaka Samaranayake is a Thoracic and Sleep physician from Brisbane, with special interests in pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary embolisms and interventional pulmonology. He completed specialist physician training in Queensland, and currently working at the Royal Brompton Hospital as a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in pulmonary vascular disease. Dr Samaranayake is undertaking a PhD in risk stratification and early interventions in pulmonary embolisms. His other current research interests include metabolic modulation of right ventricular function in pulmonary vascular disease, and invasive and non-invasive exercise physiology assessments, with research collaborations between University of Queensland, Imperial College London and Royal Brompton Hospital.
