Biography

Dr McWilliams is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at the Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH), Perth, WA. Her other roles include Clinical Associate Professor at University of Western Australia and Clinical Lead for the Thoracic Tumour Collaborative for Western Australia. She has been involved in the field of early detection and treatment of lung cancer for >20 years. The focus of her work, both clinical and research, is to explore and develop a comprehensive approach for the management of lung cancer by early detection, localisation, prevention and treatment.

Biography

Dr Jonathan Williamson trained in Sydney, Perth, and overseas in Heidelberg, Germany. He is a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician at Liverpool Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer at Macquarie University Hospital. Dr Williamson's practice covers a wide range of respiratory pathologies including asthma, COPD, lung and airway infections, emphysema and lung cancer with a sub specialised interest in airway interventions including rigid bronchoscopy, cryotherapy, endoscopic lung volume reduction, cone beam CT guided bronchoscopy and managing central airway obstruction.

Associate Professor Tajalli Saghaie is a Respiratory Consultant at Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney. He is an Interventional Pulmonologist and Respiratory Physician with interest and experience in rigid bronchoscopy and management of large airways, diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, management of pleural disease, and multidisciplinary care of lung cancer.

Biography

Rajesh Thomas is a Respiratory Medicine and Interventional Pulmonology consultant at Sir Charles Gairdner hospital, Perth. He leads the Lung Cancer and Bronchoscopy services at SCGH including an Interventional Bronchoscopy training program. His PhD research was on “Indwelling Pleural Catheter management in malignant pleural effusions” from the University of Western Australia, Perth. He continued as early career researcher with NHMRC and Cancer Council WA and his current research is focussed on improving thoracic cancer outcomes through advanced bronchoscopic interventions. He is passionate about bronchoscopic training and safety and runs regular interventional bronchoscopy workshops in Perth.
