Biography

Dr Marianne Turner is a Staff Specialist Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician at The Canberra Hospital, Clinical Lead of the Tuberculosis Service, and co-delivers the Bronchiectasis and Complex Pulmonary Infection Multidisciplinary Service. Dr Turner is the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Health representative to the National Tuberculosis Advisory Committee. She has an active role in education and training including Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Australian National University (ANU) School of Medicine and Psychology, and Deputy Chair of RACP Basic Training Adult Internal Medicine Accreditation Subcommittee. Dr Turner holds a Master of Public Health, and her other clinical interests include ILD and occupational and environmental lung health.

Dr Andrew Burke is a respiratory and infectious diseases physician at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane. He is an investigator on multiple NTM drug trials and is undertaking research at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research with a focus on pharmacokinetics and novel treatment strategies in NTM lung disease.

Biography

Professor Deborah Marriott is Senior Specialist in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, Conjoint Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales and Adjunct Professor, University of Technology, Sydney. Professor Marriott is recognised as an expert in fungal infections in immuno-compromised hosts and therapeutic drug monitoring of antimicrobial agents. She has over 200 publications in refereed journals and has published several book chapters. Professor Marriott is a founding member and past president of the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine, past President, Transplant Infectious Diseases (a section of The Transplant Society), Past International Councillor and Director of Education, International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring & Clinical Toxicology (IATDMCT) and founder and chair of the Regional Asia Pacific section of this Society. She is active in teaching and mentoring.

Biography

Dr Simone Barry is a respiratory physician working at Royal Adelaide Hospital. She is the Head SA Tuberculosis Service. Commensurate with that position she serves as the state representative for National TB Advisory Committee to provide expert advice to the Australian Government on the prevention and control of TB. She holds a Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Her PhD doctoral thesis examined microRNA as a biomarker for TB. She is currently studying a Masters of Public Health Epidemiology through Harvard Chan School of Public Health.
