Dr Janet Bristow is a Research Manager in the Asthma in Pregnancy Research Group, within the Centre of Research Excellence in Treatable Traits at the University of Newcastle. Formally a reproductive cell biologist, she now works in respiratory project management, and was project coordinator for the Asthma in Pregnancy Toolkit.

Jiacheng Liu is a PhD student at the Allergy and Lung Health Unit, The University of Melbourne. In 2021, he earned a Master of Public Health degree from The University of Melbourne. Jiacheng’s doctoral research focuses on exploring the associations between parental pre-conception factors and chronic lung disease in offspring.

Dr. Wang is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Human Sciences, The University of Western Australia. Her research interests lies in the fetal origins of respiratory disease whereby her studies are aimed at understanding the links between in utero insults and airway/lung structure-function after birth.

Biography

Eve Denton is a consultant Respiratory, Sleep and Allergy Physician at the Alfred Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospitals in Melbourne. She is the clinical lead for the Severe Asthma Service at the Alfred Hospital and the current Asthma and Allergy SIG convener for the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand. During training she completed a Masters of Public Health at Monash University focusing on epidemiology, biostatistics and clinical research and culminating in a minor thesis in lung cancer epidemiology based at St Vincent’s Hospital. After finishing her specialty training she completed a two year Clinical and Research Fellowship at the Alfred Hospital focusing on Allergy and Asthma. She has an interest in inducible laryngeal obstruction and is involved in the Alfred Hospital ILO clinic and Exercise-induced Laryngeal Obstruction Service. She has recently completed her PhD in the area of Severe Asthma and is engaged in post-doctoral research collaborations with the International Severe Asthma Registry examining real-world response to asthma biologics and with the Australasian Severe Asthma Registry examining the impact of comorbidities on severe asthma.

Biography

Dr Jensen is an Advanced Accredited Practicing Dietitian (PhD, 2013) and Hunter Children’s Research Foundation Peggy Lang Research Fellow at the Hunter Medical Research Institute and the University of Newcastle. Dr Jensen has a demonstrated track record in maternal and paediatric nutrition in respiratory disease, including the management of clinical asthma trials in Australia and Canada. Dr Jensen established and leads a Nutrition Program within a cohort of pregnant women with asthma and their offspring, with a dedicated research stream on breastfeeding and its relationship with respiratory health.
