Biography

Hollie is a final year PhD Candidate at the UQ Thoracic Research Centre and CSIRO Australian E-Health Research Centre, and Senior Research Assistant at the UQ School of Public Health. Her thesis describes the novel development of a smoking cessation chatbot smartphone app via a multi-phase program of co-design research.

Biography

Dr Laura Coleman is a recent post-doc at the Telethon Kids Institute. During her PhD, she used both transcriptomics and metabolomics to identify predictors of recurrent wheeze and asthma in children. She now aims to further this work to discover novel mechanisms and treatment targets.

Rebecca Watkinson is a final year PhD Student in the Children's Respiratory Science Group and Airway Epithelial Research Team at the Wal-Yan Respiratory Research Centre, Telethon Kids Institute. Rebecca's research involves elucidating the responses of a fully differentiated nasal epithelial model of paediatric acute wheeze/asthma to rhinovirus C and A.

Biography

Dr Narelle Cox is the Senior Research Fellow in Physiotherapy and Respiratory Research at Monash University, Melbourne; and is a current NHMRC Emerging Leader Fellow. Narelle completed her undergraduate and Masters degrees from the University of Sydney, and was awarded her PhD in 2014 from La Trobe University in Melbourne. Her research focuses on improving health and clinical outcomes for people with chronic respiratory disease through exercise rehabilitation; including exploration of telemedicine and technology-based strategies to improve access to pulmonary rehabilitation services for people of all ages with a chronic respiratory disease.
