Jiacheng Liu is a PhD student at the Allergy and Lung Health Unit, The University of Melbourne. In 2021, he earned a Master of Public Health degree from The University of Melbourne. Jiacheng’s doctoral research focuses on exploring the associations between parental pre-conception factors and chronic lung disease in offspring.

Catriona Lockett is the Research Officer for the Prevention Education & Research Unit, Research & Education Network, WSLHD. Catriona is passionate about promoting physical activity, healthy eating, and the prevention of e-cigarette use in adolescents. She is a PhD candidate addressing the value of school-based interventions using peer-led models to prevent adolescent e-cigarette use.

Melis completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Masters of Health Sciences (Health Policy) from La Trobe University. She is currently a PhD Candidate at Monash University. Her doctoral research focuses on the perceptions and prescribing intentions of GPs towards the use of e-cigarettes as a smoking cessation aid.

Andrew Thorpe is a first year PHD student at the University of Technology Sydney and the Woolcock Institute. She investigated the pulmonary effects of third hand e-cigarette vapour exposure in mice. Andrew's PHD research focuses on the in-utero effects of e-cigarette exposure and chronic respiratory disease.

Biography

Doctor Odo is an early-carrier researcher, working on tobacco free program in the Australian National University (ANU). He completed his PhD on January 2023 from the University of Queensland (UQ), having joined UQ with an international scholarship in 2019. His research areas include public health, air pollution and climate change. Associate Professor Raglan Maddox is a Fellow and Study Director of the Tackling Indigenous Smoking Evaluation at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Public Health, at the Australian National University. Dr. Maddox’s program of research has focused on developing population based Indigenous heath info-systems using community driven processes.

Henry Marshall, FRACP PhD, is a senior staff Thoracic Physician at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane and Visiting Medical Officer at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside, Brisbane. His research, at the University of Queensland Thoracic Research Centre, aims to reduce the burden of disease caused by lung cancer by focussing on lung cancer early detection, screening and smoking cessation.

Dr Moya Vandeleur is a Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Specialist at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne and the department research lead. Her clinical work involves children with general respiratory and sleep problems. Moya is the deputy convenor for the TSANZ Tobacco & Related Substances SIG and has a special interest in adolescent health and the health effects of vaping.
