Dan has been Australia's most highly cited researcher in the field of Transplantation for each of the past 4 years. He is the only Australian to have Directed the International Lung Transplant Registry and has published 3 of the most highly cited papers in the history of lung transplantation. He is Deputy Editor for the field's highest impact journal.

Liarna Honeysett is the Clinical Nurse Consultant for both heart and lung transplantation at St Vincent’s Sydney. Part of Liarna’s role includes coordinating transplants and flying with the retrieval team across the country to bring organs safely back to the Darlinghurst Precinct.
Liarna has been a Registered Nurse for over 15 years, commencing her training in cardiac thoracic intensive care, more recently she has been the Nurse Manager of the Interventional Cardiology Service and Heart and Lung Clinic, before returning to the Transplant team. Liarna is passionate about cardio-respiratory disease and improving the quality of life for patients and their families affected by it. Her previous roles include working with Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) patients at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where she also worked with the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Registry.
Liarna is currently on the board of the Transplant Network– supporting patients that require transplant with education. In her spare time Liarna enjoys liaising with international transplant centres to review best practice. Liarna has an active interest in rehabilitation health economics and has commenced her Master’s in Public Health at the University of Tasmania.

Her interests are in ILD, respiratory infection, and interventional pulmonology.
