Biography

Brigitte is an accredited clinical physiologist (respiratory) with 31 years’ experience. Brigitte works at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne as Head, Physiology Service, Respiratory Medicine. Brigitte’s areas of interest in the field of respiratory medicine include lung function interpretation (for which she co-authored a book in 2014), laboratory accreditation, quality spirometry in primary care, and oxygen therapy.

Biography

Matthew Peters is a son, husband of one, father of five and grandfather of two. He obtained his FRACP in 1988, completed a higher degree and then spent an impoverishing three years in London as a Research Fellow. He is Senior Staff Specialist and Head of Respiratory Medicine at Concord Hospital and Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Macquarie University. He has served TSANZ in a number of roles including as President and also worked for an extended period with Lung Foundation Australia. He has made a particular contribution in the area of Tobacco Control. He became a member of the Order of Australia in 2019 recognising the significant contributions in these areas. Outside Medicine and the love of his family, 2023 will be his 23rd year of coaching an Under 13 Rugby team at St Joseph’s College in Sydney. No Wallaby yet but one Australian Rugby 7s representative!

Biography

Paul is a Clinical Physiologist and a Clinical Manager for Respiratory Physiology Services, Te Whatu Ora - Waitaha & Te Tai o Poutini. Paul has 30 years-experience in both clinical and research physiology with a particular interest in environmental physiology, which was the focus of both his Masters and PhD studies. Paul works closely with community, regional and tertiary care providers with the goal of providing accessible, equitable and standardised respiratory physiology within the Waitaha & Te Tai o Poutini regions.

Biography

Laura Marriott is a Clinical and Research Scientist in Sleep, Respiratory, and Neurophysiology at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Children's Health Research Centre. She has a specialised interest in OSA in adult regional Australian populations and validation of novel paediatric sleep diagnostic technology.
