She is Fellow of the American Thoracic and ANZ Thoracic Societies, Chair of Palliative care Interest Group for the latter, author of several Cochrane reviews, and cited in several international guidelines.

A/Prof Natasha Smallwood is a consultant respiratory physician at the Alfred Hospital, Head of the Chronic Respiratory Disease Research group at the School of Translational Medicine (Monash University) and principal research fellow at Monash University. She has clinical expertise and research interests in breathlessness, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary fibrosis, symptom management and severe lung diseases.

Dr Hayley Lewthwaite is an accredited exercise physiologist and postdoctoral research fellow with the Centre of Research Excellence in Treatable Traits. Her research aims to better understand breathlessness for people with chronic lung conditions, and to improve its assessment and management in clinical care.

Stefanie Zappino is a PhD candidate of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science at Monash University under the supervision of A/Prof Natasha Smallwood, Prof Anne Holland, A/Prof Jeanette Tamplin and Dr. Amy Pascoe.
Stefanie is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) who graduated her Master of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne in 2016 and has worked within the healthcare sector for the past 8 years. Stefanie currently holds a senior music therapist role in A/Prof Natasha Smallwood’s research group, responsible for developing and leading online singing for breathing sessions as part of the SINFONIA Randomised Controlled Trial, within the Respiratory Research @ Alfred at the Central Clinical School, Monash University.

She has 6years experience working among many different research trials within this role. Christie is currently completing her PhD with Monash University, investigating the intensity of minimal equipment exercise training for people with chronic respiratory disease.

Biography
Associate Professor Disler is an Australian Research Council Discovery DECRA Fellow from Monash University. Through her research, she leads improvement in access to care and models of care for people living with advanced chronic disease, particularly in rural settings. As Fellow of the American and ANZ Thoracic Societies, Convenor of the TSANZ Symptom Support and Palliative Care group, member of the COPDX Clinical Guideline committee, and as a Cochrane author, her work has been included in several international guidelines, including ERS, NICE UK and global GOLD strategies.
