Biography

Anne Holland is Professor of Physiotherapy and Head of Respiratory Research at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. She leads a research program that aims to improve the lives of people with chronic lung disease using non-pharmacological treatments. Anne is an NHMRC Leadership Fellow.

Biography

Dr. Wang is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Human Sciences. Her research explores three vital themes: understanding associations between low birth weight and asthma, characterising airway fat in the context of comorbid obesity-asthma and testing drugs to mitigate excessive airway muscle.

Climate change and maternal and child health globally: Challenges and opportunities

Biography

Dr. Zulfiqar A. Bhutta PhD, MBBS, FRCPCH, FAAP, FRS, is the Robert Harding Inaugural Chair in Global Child Health and Policy at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, and the Co-Director of the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health. He is also the Distinguished University Professor and Founding Director of the Institute for Global Health and Development and the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health, at the Aga Khan University, unique joint appointments. He also holds adjunct professorships at several leading Universities globally including the Schools of Public Health at Johns Hopkins (Baltimore), George Washington University (DC), Boston University School of Public Health, University of Alberta as well as the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

Biography

Prof. Ruby Pawankar is a globally recognised expert in Allergy and Immunology. A graduate of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, with postgraduate training from BJMC, Pune, and a doctorate from Nippon Medical School, Tokyo, she has held leadership roles as Executive Director and Past President of the Asia-Pacific Association of Allergy, Asthma, and Clinical Immunology (APAAACI) and President of the World Allergy Organization (WAO). An Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and a key figure in international immunology societies, she serves on the G20-T20 India Task Force on Well-Being and Women in STEM. She has received prestigious awards, including the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (2010) and the WAO Gold Medal (2018). She engages with global bodies like the UN, WHO, UNEP, COP, G20, especially on climate change and One Health and focuses on bringing science to action via public policy. She was an expert panellist at the United Nations' Rio+20 Biodiversity on Environment and Health.
