Dr Moya Vandeleur is a Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Specialist at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne and the department research lead. Her clinical work involves children with general respiratory and sleep problems. Moya is the deputy convenor for the TSANZ Tobacco & Related Substances SIG and has a special interest in adolescent health and the health effects of vaping.

Sam Brookes is currently a Transplant Fellow at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He completed his core respiratory training in 2024 at both the Royal Adelaide and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals. With a strong interest in lung transplantation, sleep medicine, and respiratory physiology, Sam’s passion for these fields is deeply rooted in his undergraduate studies, where he majored in Neuroscience and Physiology within a Medical Science program. This combination of clinical training and scientific background fuels his dedication to advancing respiratory medicine.

Aeneas is an experienced respiratory and sleep physician with extensive clinical expertise, particularly in non-invasive advanced respiratory support. As the Medical Director of the Lung Function Laboratory and Clinical Lead of the Respiratory Failure and Sleep Medicine Service at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, he has a profound interest in respiratory physiology, focusing on its measurement and education. In his role as a Clinical Title Holder at the University of Adelaide, Aeneas is a passionate and engaging educator, inspiring students and trainees on topics such as non-invasive ventilation, arterial blood gases, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. He is a member of the TSANZ NIV Curriculum working group.

A/Prof Chien is a senior staff specialist at Westmead Hospital where he leads the first established PE Response in Australia. He runs the NIV Unit and Severe Asthma Service at Westmead. His research interests include acute PE, severe asthma, and oxygen delivery. He is currently a member of the TSANZ NIV Curriculum Committee.

She has over two decades of experience working in ICU and respiratory medicine, along with master’s degrees in cardiopulmonary physiotherapy and sleep medicine, contributing significant expertise in the field of respiratory failure.

Biography
Dr Dowman is a post-doctoral research fellow in the Respiratory Research@Alfred group within the School of Translational Medicine at Monash University, leading high-quality internationally recognised research investigating the benefits of supportive therapeutic interventions in ILD. She also has substantial clinical experience and specialist knowledge in the rehabilitation of people with chronic lung disease, through her senior exercise physiologist role at Austin Health.
