Biography

Dr Berthon is a clinical research dietitian at the University of Newcastle and Hunter Medical Research Institute. Dr Berthon performs clinical research investigating the metabolic, immunological and biochemical relationships between dietary intake, obesity, inflammation and respiratory diseases. Their research is focused on developing evidence for dietary intake strategies and non-pharmacological therapies to optimise health in ageing, obesity, asthma and COPD.

Biography

Dr Jensen is an Advanced Accredited Practicing Dietitian (PhD, 2013) and Senior Research Fellow with the Asthma and Breathing Program at Hunter Medical Research Institute, and the University of Newcastle. Dr Jensen leads a Maternal & Paediatric Respiratory Nutrition research program, with a dedicated research stream on breastfeeding.

Biography

Jeanne is the Acting Associate Nurse Manager for the Thoracic Medicine Outpatient Department and one of the senior tuberculosis nurses. She has worked in the department for five years, completed her Master of Nurse Tuberculosis Management in 2022 and leads the asynchronous Video Directly Observed Therapy program via Personify Care.

She is the recipient of one of the prestigious University of Adelaide’s International Fellows Award hosted by Professor Sheree Smith in the Adelaide Nursing School.

Catherine is an advanced practice respiratory and sleep nurse and PhD Candidate at Monash University and Alfred Health. Her research interests include the use of non-invasive respiratory support therapies, exploring new models of care, understanding current services including clinical practice and patient experiences and care outcomes using mixed methods approach. Catherine holds a number of leadership positions within TSANZ.

Doctor Hayley Scott is a Lecturer in Nutritional Biochemistry and Accredited Practising Dietitian, at the University of Newcastle. Her research aims to investigate the impact of obesity, diet, exercise and sex hormones on inflammation, and the effect this has on the pathogenesis of respiratory disease.
