A/Prof Chien is a senior staff specialist at Westmead Hospital where he leads the first established PE Response in Australia. He runs the NIV Unit and Severe Asthma Service at Westmead. His research interests include acute PE, severe asthma, and oxygen delivery. He is currently a member of the TSANZ NIV Curriculum Committee.

Dr Sarah Newhouse, originally from Canada, is an expert in interventional respiratory and sleep medicine, specializing in the management of pulmonary vascular disease, sarcoid and interstitial lung disease. She holds a prominent position at Flinders Medical Centre, where she founded and chairs both the Pulmonary Hypertension MDT and the Post-Pulmonary Embolism follow up service. Her research interests focus on interventional pulmonology and pulmonary vascular disease. In addition to her public work, she maintains a thriving private practice in southern Adelaide.
