Dr Simone Barry is a respiratory physician working at Royal Adelaide Hospital. She is the Head SA Tuberculosis Service. Commensurate with that position she serves as the state representative for National TB Advisory Committee to provide expert advice to the Australian Government on the prevention and control of TB. She holds a Master of Public Health Epidemiology from Harvard Chan School of Public Health and a Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Her PhD doctoral thesis examined microRNA as a biomarker for TB.

Prof Subash Shanthakumar Heraganahally, is the Director and Head of Respiratory and Sleep service at the Royal Darwin Hospital & Darwin Respiratory and Sleep Health, Darwin Private Hospital, Darwin, Northern Territory. He is a faculty at the Flinders and Charles Darwin University, Darwin, Northern Territory, He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers, mostly addressing respiratory and sleep health issues in the adult Indigenous Australians. He is a senior member of Sleep health, Indigenous working group (Australasian Sleep Association and Sleep Health Foundation), Australasian Bronchiectasis Consortium (Lung Foundation Australia), and past executive board member of the TSANZ – SA/NT branch. He is the recipient of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand research excellence award - The Robert Pierce Grant-In-Aid for Indigenous lung Health in 2023 and Lung Foundation Australia, David Serisier Memorial Award for Translational Research in Bronchiectasis – 2024 and other notable contribution to research include - the development of sleep assessment scale for adult Indigenous people the “Top End Sleepiness Scale”, the GPSS – General practice sleep scale and the IBAS – Indigenous Bronchiectasis assessment scale.

A/Professor Anthony Byrne is a senior Staff specialist Respiratory Physician at St Vincent’s Public and Private Hospital ins Sydney as well as a Global Health Researcher and expert advisor to the World Health Organisation. He is an associate professor of medicine at the University of New South Wales and clinical lead of the TB service and (co-lead) of Long Covid services at SVH.

Biography
Dr Timothy Howarth is a Post-Doctoral researcher, currently working between Kuopio, Finland and Darwin, Australia. Dr Howarth has a strong background in Indigenous Australian health in the Northern Territory, having completed his PhD in Public Health through Charles Darwin University, which examined the chronic lung disease burden among Indigenous Australians in the Top End of the Northern Territory. While his work in Australia focuses upon Indigenous health, his work in Finland focuses upon novel markers and parameters of sleep health, particularly aspects of oxygen resaturation in sleep apnoea.
Dr Howarth has published over 50 articles, with major recent works including the Top End Sleepiness Scale (TESS), the General Practice Sleep Scale (GPSS) and the Indigenous Bronchiectasis Assessment Scale (IBAS).
