Dr Carol Siu is the Pathologist leading the Biochemical Genetics Department in Genetics & Molecular Directorate, in SA Pathology, a statewide public pathology service in South Australia. Her main role is the provision of state-wide services for newborn screening and diagnostic investigations on inborn errors of metabolism. The department she supervises also provides SA Maternal Serum Antenatal Screening (SAMSAS).
Her areas of interest include biochemical genetics, inborn errors of metabolism, newborn screening, molecular genetics of inherited diseases and non-invasive prenatal testing. With a strong background in pathology & genetics, her expertise extends to translating research into patient service and one of her current research projects aims to trial a novel NBS model that integrates whole-genome sequencing and metabolomics profiling.

Keith Ooi is a Clinician Scientist and a tenured Professor at University of New South Wales (UNSW) Medicine & Health. He is also a Senior Specialist Pediatric Gastroenterologist at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Australia. He is recognized nationally and internationally for his research and clinical expertise in CF gastroenterology and nutrition as well as in pediatric pancreatic diseases. He has published over 150 journal articles and has been involved in $>10M in grant funding including from the NHMRC and NIH (USA).

Melinda Solomon is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto. She completed her pediatric residency and pediatric respiratory medicine fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Canada and then joined SickKids faculty in 1999.
As the Director of the Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Clinic and Medical Director of the Pediatric Lung Transplant Program at SickKids, Dr. Solomon has dedicated her career to advancing care for children with complex respiratory conditions. Her leadership in CF care and in lung transplantation has helped shaped highly specialized and collaborative programs.

Miranda Paraskeva is a lung transplant physician at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. She leads the Nationally Funded Centre for Paediatric Lung and Heart Lung Transplantation which provides lung and heart-lung transplantation to Australian children aged 4-16 years.

Biography
Dr Geshani Jayasuriya is a Staff Specialist with the Departments of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine and Adolescent Medicine at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead (CHW), Sydney.
She is also a clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney and completed a PhD with the Airways Physiology and Imaging Group at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, Sydney. Her PhD explored the utility of new paediatric lung function techniques in post bone marrow transplant patients and pulmonary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques in paediatrics. During her PhD candidature, she introduced pulmonary MRI to CHW. Her ongoing research interests encompass a range of paediatric respiratory, sleep and adolescent research areas.

Dr Andrew Tai the director of the Respiratory and Sleep Department at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Adelaide. Andrew has been active within the society since his advance training years when he was convenor of the Advanced Trainees' Course, member of the education, research subcommittee, member of the RACP STC, Paediatric SIG convenor and recipient of the TSANZ Paediatric Respiratory Medicine award. Andrew has served as the Chair of the Annual Scientific Meeting for TSANZ. His research interests are in asthma epidemiology, paediatric respiratory medicine and translational medicine.
