Biography

Dr Moya Vandeleur is a Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Specialist at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne and the department research lead. Her clinical work involves children with general respiratory and sleep problems. Moya is the deputy convenor for the TSANZ Tobacco & Related Substances SIG and has a special interest in adolescent health and the health effects of vaping.

Matthew Peters is Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Macquarie University and Senior Staff Specialist at Concord Hospital and. He has served TSANZ in a number of roles including as President and also worked for an extended period with Lung Foundation Australia. He has made a particular contribution in the area of Tobacco Control.

Associate Professor Michelle Jongenelis has expertise in health promotion, intervention development and evaluation, behavioural psychology, and clinical psychology. She works across multiple and diverse health-related behaviours. Michelle works as a researcher and consultant for a broad range of organisations covering the not-for-profit and government sectors. She sits on the Australian Council of Smoking and Health, and the World Federation of Public Health Associations’ Tobacco Control Working Group.

Ms Janet Williams has formal qualifications in nursing and education, and is active in both public and private health systems. Specialising in respiratory, smoking cessation and lung health education and promotion, as well as quality systems and clinical governance for almost twenty years Appointed manager of the Lung Health Promotion Centre at the Alfred Hospital in March 2015, Janet manages and presents with world-class health professionals a diverse programme of specialist and general lung health and education seminars and courses. The Lung Health Promotion Centre at The Alfred, unique in Australia is a leading centre for courses related to Smoking Cessation, Asthma, COPD and Spirometry, as well as patient engagement and education methods, motivational interviewing and positive psychology

Biography

Emma is currently the Quit Centre Manager at Cancer Council Victoria. She is responsible for leading the Quit Centre, a national online resource for health professionals on smoking and vaping cessation. Emma has almost two decades of experience working within the Victorian health sector, including roles spanning leadership, population health, research, and clinical pharmacy. She has well recognised cessation expertise and is a member of several national expert advisory groups responsible for developing cessation clinical guidelines.
